It is my great privilege to write a letter of recommendation for Nathan Tanner. From our very
first conversation, it was clear that Nathan would be an exceptional teacher candidate.
Through the course of his observations and formal student teacher, Nathan completely
exceeded my expectations.
Nathans command of his subject matter is impressive, but he is also continually looking to
improve and expand his content area knowledge. He is also invested in presenting information
using the best practices and is continually using a variety of pedagogically proven instructional
techniques to clearly and effectively promote learning. Nathan actively participates in
Professional Learning Communities and has expanded his network beyond the social studies
department.
Nathans presence in the classroom is remarkable for a Teacher Candidate. Anyone that
spends any time in a classroom knows that exceptional teachers are more than just masters of
pedagogy and theory. While Nathans understanding of best practices is impressive, Nathans
passion for his students is exceptional. In his short time in the classroom, he has developed a
positive rapport with his students. Upon re-assuming my role as primary teacher, many
students quickly expressed how much they enjoyed Mr Tanner and how much he taught them.
In short, Nathan will be an exceptional hire in any school environment. Personally, I feel like I
cannot adequately or completely communicate Nathans value, qualifications, and potential in
