Summative:
The students will create their own class rules
individually.
The students will present their rules to the class. They
will be graded with the attached rubric.
Formative:
The teacher will ask the students if they can say what
rules are and why we need them on an exit slip.

In a group setting, all fourth graders will be able to


state what the five class rules are.
Individually, all fourth grade students will be able to
make a list (remembering and creating portions of
Blooms taxonomy) of 5 of their own rules different than
the ones already in the classroom.
Individually, all fourth grade students will be able to
present their list of 5 rules to the class.
In a group setting, all fourth graders will be able to
create 5 rules for a classroom.

The class will play a game with the teacher. The teacher
will be the police officer and the students will be the
citizens of the town. The teacher will have the students
go around the class and talk to one another like they are
at a store or in the park. As they are doing this, the
teacher will secretly tell one student to do something
against the law, such as throwing a piece of paper on
the ground instead of the garbage can to littering. The
police officer (teacher) will go over to the student and
give them a ticket and a fine that they have to pay.
The teacher will do that with each of the students. As a
transition, the teacher will tell the students that once
they get a ticket, they are to return to their seats. The
class will talk about how littering is against the law and
that this student broke the rules.

Adaptations/Accommodations for Students with Special Needs
For a student with a behavior disorder, the teacher will
tell them that if they finish their work and sit quietly,
they can have a sticker.
