Literacy Goal
At least 90% of all
kindergarten students will be
able to orally identify all 52
upper and lower case letter
names with 100% accuracy
by the end of the 2014-2015
school year.

Strategies and Action Steps


1. Jolly Phonics curriculum
will be utilized each day
to teach all 52 letter
names. The program
calls for the teaching of
one letter per day which
will accelerate the pace
of letter name
instruction.
2. Benchmark Literacy
Phonics curriculum will
be implemented after the
completion of the Jolly
Phonics program. This
curriculum will be
utilized to continue letter
naming identification
practice and extension
activities (writing, letter
sounds, etc.).
3. Literacy centers will be
created and implemented
to reinforce letter
naming identification.
