Teacher Work Sample Project

Molly Craig
Self-Evaluation
Contextual Factors
Proficient: I implemented a lesson that integrated the students needs
for reading within the district with the learning environment of the
school (integrated arts).
Learning Outcomes
Proficient: I taught the Indiana State Standards for reading that
followed the districts reading unit plan as well as the theatre and
visual arts standards that allowed the students to creatively show what
they learned.
Assessment Plan
Proficient: I informally assessed the students with a discussion about
visualization and character traits before the read aloud and
explanations of their illustrations during the whole group share. I
formally assessed the students illustrations and tableaus using a
rubric I created.
Design for Instruction
Proficient: I differentiated the lesson by allowing the students to work
independently, in partners, and as a whole group to discuss and show
what they know about visualization and character traits. I also allowed
the students to use their creative minds to display their learning.
Instructional Decision Making
Proficient: My learning objectives lined up with the third grade and
districts reading plan, as well as the schools environment of
integrated arts. I used prior knowledge of my students success when
displaying their learning creatively and their tendency to succeed when
collaborating in different ways to create a lesson in which they could
most easily meet the learning objectives.
Analysis of Student Learning
Proficient: I was able to analyze my students learning from my lesson
in multiple ways, from the class discussions to their forms of artwork. I
was able to discover how each student understood the learning
objectives through each of their art pieces using a rubric.
Reflection and Self-Evaluation
Proficient: I leave space at the end of my lesson plans to allow for
reflection after the lesson. I reflected on the overall success of the

lesson, what I could have done better, and what I need to do to make
my lessons better in the future.
