Pityriasis versicolor yeast on skin grows out of control. Common in late teens and peak in early 20s.
commonly on upper trunk. Frequently spread to neck, upper arms and abdomen. Individual lesions oval
shaped but large confluent areas develop. Fawn coloured in light skin and lighter colour in dark skin. Fine
scale. Wood light yellow green fluorescence. Tx: ketoconazole shampoo daily for 5 days (apply to area
for 10 minutes then wash).
Psoriasis treatment topical treatment- corticosteroids. Vit D analogues, Calcineurin inhibitors. Coal tar.
Ditharanol. Phototherapy. Systemic treatments
Acanthosis nigricans browny black hyperpigmentation of thickened skin usually at folds. Associated with
obesity and endocrinopathies (diabetes, acromegaly, hypothyroidism)

Leichmaniasis cutaneous aspect skin infection caused by a parasite. characteristic appearance of nonhealing raised, scaling lesions that may ulcerate and become secondarily infected with organisms such as

diagnosis is PCR
