Active power control: is one feature of power control algorithem.

This feature enables the BSC to control uplink and downlink power promptly after an MS
successfully accesses the network or an intra-BSC handover is successfully performed.
Therefore, both the BTS and the MS transmit signals at a proper power. This helps reduce
system interference, improve service quality, and decrease MS and BTS power consumption.

Test procedure
o First test by call trace to confirm below Expected result;
Checking the result in Single User CS Trace window.
Expected result: The call is established successfully and the voice quality is
good. The TCH occupied by the call is on a non-BCCH TRX, and the
Measurement Result message regarding the call is present before the
Channel Activation message is delivered. In this case, the values of the fields
bs powerand ms power in the Channel Activation message are not the
maximum (the maximum power level of the 900M cell is 5 and that of the
1800M cell is 0).
The test and change parametes will be apply for 4 cells in Shoraw area.
o

Second test will be on cluster level to confirm reduce

interference and good quality level on the cluster level.
