B. Course Requirements
Please comply with all requirements. All class materials are due by July 2nd, 2015. No exceptions will be
made regarding due dates for the work. All work must be turned in on time.
A minimum of 16 hours of direct instruction, planning, and collaboration are required for 1 semester
credit hour.

NOTE: For the registration procedures below, it is recommended to use Google Chrome and your
DoDEA email account.
a. Make sure you are able to sign onto your Schoology Account and access our class course
b. Read and respond to all assignments, quizzes, and discussions (Schoology).
c. Attend and participate in all required sessions
Formal Meetings
Online quizzes and assignments (from group meetings and reading assignments)
d. Develop and submit a copy of a Schoology based learning unit for implementation.
C. Course Description and Outcome
This course is designed for teachers to gain an understanding of how to use Schoology in elementary
classrooms. Participants will explore Schoology, create assignments and tests to be used in the classroom.
Finally, participants will reflect on their work and ways to adapt it in their classrooms.
The outcome of the course is for each participant to design, develop, and prepare a Schoology unit to
implement during the semester that follows the end of the course.

Developing a Schoology Classroom

All participants will be a part of the development and implementation of a Schoology course. Teachers
will have the option to create an authentic standards-based Lesson unit or research available
resources for units to use as a starting point to customize their own course.
It is recommended that teachers create, design and implement a Schoology course that aligns with
their current curriculum and is preapproved by the instructors.

To Receive an A:
Meet all minimum time requirements (see above)
Participate and post to all online discussions and reading assignments
Create, share and submit a completed Schoology course lesson plan to implement in the classroom.
To Receive a B:
Meet all minimum time requirements (see above)
Participate and post to all online discussions and reading assignments

Create, share and submit an outline for a Schoology course lesson plan to implement in the
classroom.

E. Course Instructors:
William Buckley: William has a Master of Arts in Elementary Education (M Ed.) and a Bachelors degree with
an emphasis in Education. He is currently working on his Doctorate in Educational Leadership. He has
taught since 2008, and is currently certified in Elementary Education, Educational Technology, and
Elementary Leadership. Will is currently a fourth grade teacher at Ramstein Intermediate School in
Ramstein, Germany, for DoDEA.
Bridgette Embree: Bridgette Bachelor of science in elementary education and a Master of Science in
elementary reading and math. She has taught since 2009, and is currently certified in Elementary
Education, Math Comp Ed, and Reading Comp Ed. Bridgette is currently a fourth grade teacher at
Ramstein Intermediate School in Ramstein, Germany, for DoDEA.
