Reflection

While reading the debate articles on Is Genetic Enhancement an Unacceptable

Use of Technology, what went through my mind was how is it going to be used? I think
in some cases like helping to decrease diseases it would help to have the enhancement.
However like Michael J. Sandel said, A short, slow-moving man is unlikely to become a
professional basketball player, no matter how many steroids he takes or how much he
trains, I believe that taking enhancements may cause people to misunderstand what it
can really do. Yes, I do believe someone can improve with enhancements but how much
can they really improve? Is genetic enhancement glorified? I think you can only improve
on something you are bad at to an extent with enhancements but I think you can only
improve by practicing a lot. I know some people no matter how hard they try at
something there natural talent will only get them so far. I learned from this article that
there are scientists with somewhat successful enhancements and that they might try to let
it out to the public but I think it should only be used on people with diseases. There are
always going to be people who are for/against genetic enhancing and I dont think it will
ever really be solved.
