Evaluation of Good Presentation

1. Content:
a) Did the group communicate an understandable amount of information about the
topic without overwhelming the audience with excessive detail?

The group has given an understandable amount of information about how to prepare
when emergency with overwhelming the audience with enough and good details. For
example, the group members have prepared enough and clearly information to explain
what is emergency, what is the type of emergency, what is cardiopulmonary
resuscitation (CPR), choking, minor bleeding, muscle cramp and how to relieve
sprained ankle.

b) Did the group use a variety of supporting materials to develop their main points?

The group had used the variety of supporting materials to develop the main points of
their topic. For example, they have demonstrates how to do the CPR, what should do
when minor bleeding, choking, muscle cramp and how to relieve sprained ankle.

c) Was the supporting material relevant?

Yes. All the supporting material are relevant.

d) Did the group members appear conversant with and knowledgeable about the
subjects presented?

The group members are appearing conversant with the knowledgeable about the topic
how to prepare before emergency and what should do when the emergency is
happening.

e) Did the group fulfill time expectations?

The group has fulfilled the time expectations. They have do their plan for
their time so that they have enough time to present. They also use the time
to demonstrate the different types of emergencies so that audience can
learn something from the speakers.

2. Organization:
a) Did the group have an effective plan for the whole presentation?

This group presentation has an effective plan for the whole presentation. The group
presentation has enough time to prepare the power point slides. For example, each
group member spends a lot of time to prepare slides before presentation. It also shows

that group members have an effective plan and enough time to practice their own
slides. For example, some of the presenters have created interesting slides to get
attention from the audiences. They also clearly state the purpose of the topic and the
main point before giving presentation. Next, the presenter has professional technical in
projector. For example, the first speaker does not spend a lot of time to solve the
technical problem.

b) Did the presentation have a clear introduction, body and conclusion?

This presentation has a clear introduction, body and conclusion. The presenters
provide a lot of relevant information about the topic. The presenters have stated the
main point clearly or key message to the audiences so that the audiences will
understand what the presenters want to inform to them. The presenters provide
information by using simple language and straight to the point can help audience to
pay attention when the presentation is going on.

c) Did the presenters stick to their designated topic?

The presenters have stick to their designated topic. For example, the speakers have
provided relevant information and clearly explanation to the audiences. The speakers
also give some examples about the topic to the audiences. For example, every
presenter has demonstrated how to prepare when emergency during presentation.

d) Did each group member develop their part of the presentation in an orderly
fashion?

The group members have a good appearance like grooming, style and fit of clothing,
posture, facial expression, and appearance of confidence. Every presenter wears
formal dress code during presentation. However, improper attire like T-shirts, mini skirt,
vest should be avoid during presentation.

e) Were transitions between sections and presenters effective?

The group members have an effective transition between section and presenter. For
example, they do not spend a lot of time when exchanging to the next presenter.
Besides that, they have introduced the next speaker and past the time to the next
presenter.

3. Oral communication:
a) Did presenters speak from brief notes rather than complete texts?

Yes. The presenters always speak from the brief notes rather than from brief complete
texts. From the video, you can see that the presenters did memorize their part and
prepare well by doing some brief notes. They only look at the slide for a while. In order
to have a good presentation, presenters should prepare before presentation by
knowing their part well and present it.

b) Did presenters speak audibly and energetically?

Yes. All of the presenters in the video speak audibly and energetically. The presenters
present their part with the loud and energetic voice. Presenters look like energetic
when greeting to the audience. Presenters may sleep early before the day of
presentation so that they feel more energetic when giving presentation. This can help
the audience enjoy the presentation because of the energetic speakers.

c) Did the group appear interested in and committed to the audience?

Yes. The group did appear interested in and committed to the audience. The
presenters present through the slides with clear explanation. Besides, the sentences
on the slides are short and simple. These will make the audience easily to understand
the messages that the speakers want to deliver. Presenters have an interaction with
audience and know what audience interest are.

d) Did the group try to be creative in their approach to the topic (by using visual
aids, demonstrations, stimulations, etc)?

Yes. This group tries to be more creative in their approach to the topic. They did many
demonstration or examples to increase audiences understanding and attract their
attention. Presenters try to demonstrate or provide hands-on experiences with
assistive technology and they did involve the audience in the activity.

e) Did the presenters speak in a clear voice that could easily be heard by everyone
in the audience?

Yes. The presenters speak in a clear voice that could easily be heard by the audience.
They also increase their volume when they talk about something important. These
show that presenters are confidence during presentation. The audience will feel
interested if the presenters speak with clear voice during the whole presentation.

4. Non-verbal Communication:
a) Did the presenters develop eye contact with members of the audience?

Yes. The presenters did develop eye contact with members of the audience. When the

presenters make eye contact with the audience, it means more respectful. This can
increase the interest of the audience to listen to your presentation. Audience will feel
that the presenters care about them and respect them as well.
b) Hand and body movements are purposeful, not distracting.

They use proper hand gesture and body movements while presenting. This can help to
attract the audiences attention. This also can help the presentation become more
interesting and the audience will give comments about this presentation. Presenters try
to avoid the hand gesture and body movements which have different meanings from
different cultures.

c) Presenters do not read exclusively from note cards or visual aids.

Yes. Presenters do not read from the note cards or visual aids. They had referred to
the notes but do not read from it. They try to make eye contact with the audience.
Presenters do not stare at the screen because it shows bad presentation and the
audience will not listen to your presentation.

d) Presenters face the audience while speaking.

Yes. Presenters did face the audience while speaking because it shows respect to the
audience. When people talk face to face with other people, they may feel more
comfortable because they think you are trying to tell them something. Presenters also
look more confidence when speaking face to the audience.

e) Presenters wear professional dressing code.

Yes. Presenters wear formal dress code during presentation. This can help them look
more professional and polite. Audience will judge the presenters based on their

appearance by the way they dress.


5. Group Coordination:
a) The presentation was integrated; did not look like a sequence of unique
individual presentations.

There is collaboration between the presenters. The presenters deliver the information
effectively and doing well during presentation in front of the audience to capture the
interest of the audience and event and eventually transform their view to point of view.

b) Transitions between speakers were handled effectively; there was no indecision


or dead air.

The time was given equally, which are not too short or too long. The transition of the
time was handled effectively in order to avoid the audience feel boring by using the
different transitions throughout the presentation.

c) The presenters share ownership-one speakers does not dominate.

The group using different skills and knowledge to pique audiences attention by making
them concentrate for the full length of the presentation. Presenters prepare helpful
materials and visual aids as an example for the audience so that the audience will
know more clearly about the information that had been delivered by the presenter.
Every speaker does not dominate during the presentation.

d) Presenters do not contradict each other or ague during the presentation.

Having good communication skills, think of positive points and polite manner of
conversing to access the situation in a better way, earn the respect from audience and
impress them as well.

e) Presenters do not discuss among each other during presentation.

Presenters prepare early before the presentation started. They do not make any
discussion during the presentation among each other by preparing early the
information that the presenters want to deliver. They try to make the presentation more
effectively so that it will not delay the time. Presenters also know their sequences about
their turn to present. They prepare for their turn while the presenter before them
present on the stage

6. Visual Aid:
a) Pictures and video has to be related to the topic of the power point.

As a presenter, we need to explain out presentation to the audience. In order to make


them more understand what we want to present, pictures and video play important role
in the presentation. It is simple and powerful way to expand your expressive potential
as a speaker.

b) Each slide should focus on one idea or point of the topic you want to present.

In the slides, we need to put main point only because it allows your audience to grasp
quickly what you want to present. It is useful for the audience to understand better
without feeling confused and lose focus during the presentation. Other than that, while
they are waiting, their minds will wander and you will have to work much harder to
recapture their attention.

c) Choose different colors and font for each slide.

Please stay consistent with the colors of the slides. It will increase the mood of the
audience on that day and increase the potential impact of the presentation. Bright
colors convey energy and excitement, while darker colors focus on more conservative
and serious. Align the color palette you choose with the topic of the presentation.

d) Use occasional theoretical models & frameworks to structure information such


as pros and cons.

During presentation, we need to be careful what we want to present to the audience. It


will help to build our confidence in front of audience. It will make them believe what we
are talking about without feeling a doubt.

e) Explain jargon or slang, technical terms if you use it such as TLAs (Three Letter
Acronyms).

There will be some jargon, slang or technical terms that we use for every presentation.
It is important for us to explain them more detail about the jargon or slang words that
we use. It will prevent the audience from misunderstanding because there are different
kind of jargon and slang that we overlook or do not know that is related to our words of
jargon or slang.
