To commit myself to working effectively with individuals, families, groups, communities or
organizations.
To adhere to the values and ethics of the profession of social work.
To use my skills so that I can address issues and challenges to alleviate human suffering and to enhance
the quality of life for the oppressed, at-risk and vulnerable populations
To commit myself to enhancing the capacities of an individual so that they may try to resolve their
issues, function effectively and utilize coping skills.
To provide necessary resources to those who need to make changes so that they can alleviate the issues
of their current situation.
To promote and improve the social service delivery network by ensuring the system is humane and can
adequately provide quality services.
To promote social justice by examining social policy issues and using them for the betterment of all and
to work toward new policies that can help to provide effective services to those in need.
To utilize the fundamental knowledge, skills and values that I was taught to assist the oppressed, at-risk
and vulnerable populations.
To commit myself to follow the generalist social work practice to assist client systems of various sizes
and types.
To commit to righting social wrongs through the empowerment of others in need.
