Regularpolygonsareclosedplanefiguresconsitingofedgesofequallengthandverticesofequalsize.Thesimplestregularpolygonistheequilateraltriangle,
whichconsistsofthreeedgesofequallengthandthreeanglesbetweeneachpairofedgestobe60degrees.Threeedgesisthesmallestnumberofedgesto
constructapolygonbecausetwoedgesformsanangleandoneedgeisasegment.Polygonsareclosedfigures.Theregularpolygonoffouredgesisthesquare.
Fiveedgesmakeupthepentagon,andsix,thehexagon.
WewillinvestigatehowtoconstructregularpolygonsusingcompassandstraightedgeversusadynamicgeometryprogramlikeGeometer'sSketchpad.
