Lack of interpretation of Quran has led to the biggest dilemma according to me in any Islamic

society. It is beyond my understanding that a horrendous crime like rape which humiliates and
physically harm a woman is given such unequal standing in islam.I question the context and
motive and the timeframe upon which the shariah derived from quran in this regard is
practiced. I doubt theres any criteria to differentiate between how a women is to be given
any legitimacy in her claims than a man. I doubt the perfect God wants to practice a
patriachal society where women arent given the same standing as men. I view the concept of
rape and accountability with skepticism when it comes to witnesses.

Once we have declared our complete faith in Allah and his Prophet(pbuh) we have agreed
upon a fact that Islam is a complete way of life. However there is one thing which has
provoked me since the day it came to my attention. Something absurd and something people
from other religion degrade islam at. Adultery and rape are crimes which have existed since
the earliest of times. Some scholars do believe that there is no such instance where it is
mentioned in Quran that a woman requires four witnesses to prove her rape. On the contrary
the maulanas accuse a woman for the inhuman act done to her. They prove her innocence into
her fault by how she shouldn't have been at such a place or wear certain clothing which might
have provoked the man to unjustifiably treat her like that. It is hard for me to personally
believe that My Allah has approved of such an unequal standing of women in such a delicate
matter in society.
