Valerie Castrejon attended First Colonial High School and maintained a 3.89 GPA. She was involved in several extracurricular activities including Kick Off Council, FEA, Spanish Honor Society, and her high school's executive board. After graduation, she plans to attend a four-year college to major in elementary education or biology and minor in psychology. Valerie's family consists of her mother Consuelo, sister Anna who is 26, and brother Chris who is 24. Her dreams are to have a successful career as a pediatric oncologist or second grade teacher, help support her mother, get married, and start a family. Be a successful pediatric oncologist or a second grade teacher, and ultimately get married and have kids. 7) Opinion of teaching profession- Teachers dont get enough credit. They should be one of the higher ranked professions. Teachers are not just there to teach you material, theyre your friends and supporters. 8) Ways Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow has prepared you for your career choiceGetting out into the field has definitely shown me what being a teacher all is about. In class I learned about multiple intelligences, learning styles, barriers, and theyve all reminded me of why I wanted to be a teacher so badly to begin with. To give students the education they deserve and an outlet from home when things are tough.
