This index measures the average achievement of each country in three basic areas of
human development:

• Life expectancy at birth;


• Adult literacy and school enrolment;
• Standard of living as measured by the Gross National Product per capita.

Gender-related development index As above, adjusted for gender differences
Gender empowerment measure Seats in parliament held by women,
female administrators and managers,
female professional and technical

women’s share of earned income
Human Poverty Index(developed countries) (HPI People not expected to survive to 40,
