Q: What is the audience?
A: The teachers of River Valley Elementary School (grades K-5) have
varying degrees of technical skill and interest in integrating technology.
Q: Will the training be optional or mandatory?
A: The training will take place during an inservice day, so attendance will be
mandatory.
Q: How long will the training last?
A: Three hours is sufficient time to deliver the training and allow teachers
time to create an assignment and a board or explore Discovery Education
content for resources to add to their files.
Q: Where will the training take place?

A: The computer lab will be used for this training. The computer connected
to the projector can be used to deliver instruction. The teachers will use the
computers to search for resources and add them to their resource libraries.
Q: What is your existing and future relationship with the participants?
A: We are colleagues. I am the Digital Content Lead at my school. As such, I
deliver most of the training.
Q: What is the expected outcome of the PD?
A: The teachers are expected to set up class rosters, create an assignment,
create a board, and save resources to their saved content. The intent is to let
them experience some success creating lessons in DE while in an
environment where they can get assistance from members of the
Technology Committee. It will also allow them acquire some resources for
use in the classroom.
Q: How will your differentiate your instruction with the participants?
A: The learners will receive a typed copy of the directions, so they can
follow along or proceed at their own pace. Members of the Technology
Committee will circulate the room and assist as needed. An instructional
video on producing student narrated videos will be sent out after the
training. This will give learners an opportunity to extend their learning.
Q: Will there be an opportunity for follow-up?
A: In March members from the Technology Committee will visit grade-level
teams during collaboration meetings. They will ask if DE is being used and
what difficulties and successes people have had with it.
Q: Who will provide support?
A: The Technology Committee will support the staff in integrating DE.
Q: What role does site administration play in this training?
A: The administrator will publicize the training in a positive way and talk
about the benefits, such as it is a tool that will increase productivity, engage
students and supports school improvement goals.
Q: How will you know if the training has been successful?

A: The Technology will follow-up with the grade-level teams, and then
report their findings.
