The field experience involved me

helping a 4th grade teacher in the
next county to create a series of
videos for a week when she would
be out. We also created webpage to
host the links to the videos so that all
of the students could always access
them. This technology involved
videotaping her doing activities as
well as taking screen casts of other
activities. The activity also required
a lot of video editing. This required
planning and technology use in
lessons.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your
school. How can the impact be assessed?

The experience impacted the classroom of the teacher and the students in the classroom. The teacher had to be out to
go to training and so the student would have gotten behind on the curriculum if she had not made videos for the
students. The students enjoyed the videos and it helped the sub understand what she was supposed to do each do.
The teacher enjoyed way of leaving notes for the students and said that she would be using the activity again.

2. How did this learning relate to the

knowledge (what must you know),
skills (what must you be able to do)
and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs,
enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader?
(Refer to the standards you selected in
Part I. Use the language of the PSC
standards in your answer and reflect
on all 3knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
The field experience required a lot of
strategic planning for the video lessons.
The experience required a lot of
evaluation to make sure the videos
covered the desired material. The
experience also required me to connect
content standards of the 4th grade
classroom to the technology standards
that were used in videos. This
experience required me to know how to
take videos and screencast, edit videos
and make transitions. It required me to
have patience with the technology and
the students used to help create the
activities.
