NOTES OF 4TH GRADE SECOND

EVALUATION
BADMINTON:
-HISTORY As badminton is a game played with
shuttlecock is widely believed to have originated in
ancient Greece for about 2000 years ago. From
there they spread via the Indo-Greek kingdoms to
India and then further east to China and Thailand
In England since the medieval times Battledore and
shuttlecock which is a children game was popular.
Children would use paddles (battledores) and work
together to keep the shuttlecock up in the air and
prevent it from reaching the ground
-COURTThe badminton court is a rectangle. And
its different if you play alone or with a couple.
Playing alone the court is delimited with the lines
which are inside and playing in couples is the other
way around, using the lines which are outside
Single: The court measures 5.18 m wide x 13.40m
long
Couples: the court measures 6.10m wide x 13.40m
long

MATERIAL:
- Racket they are light
weighing between 70and 95
grams
- Shuttle Type of projectile with
an open conical shape

TECHNIQUES
-OVERHEAD:
*Clear: it travels high and to the back of the
opponents rear court

*Drop: shot hit softly to fall rapidly and close to the


net in the opponents court

*Smash: Powerful stroke overhead shot that forces


the shuttle sharply downwards into the opponents
court

*Kill: Fast downwards that cant be returned

-UNDERHEAD:
*Serve: the stroke used to put the shuttle into play
at the start of each rally

*Drive: fast and low shot that makes an horizontal


flight over the net

LATIN DANCES MERENGUE


In this type of dance the parts of our body
which we use more are the hips and
knees
In class we have learnt several steps;

-primos
-molino
-sencilla
-sencilla por abajo
-sombrero
-envuelvela
-por la espalda
