Analysis
This week is farm week. Since the children enjoy Dr. Seuss so much, I will be using
Mr. Brown can moo, can you? To transition into the activity, which will be, what
sounds do you hear on a farm? During Circle time, I will read the story. Then after I
have finished, I will show the children several pictures of animals, one at a time, and
ask them what sound they think the animal makes. After being dismissed from
Circle time, I will invite them over, a few at a time, to put their animals in the barn
by saying what the animal is and what sound it makes. After all of the animals have
been put in the barn, I will invite the children to color or paint their barn.

Kinesthetic
Children love animals. They love to both see and imitate them. This activity gives
them the opportunity to not only look at pictures, and talk about their own animals,
but also make the funny sounds animals do.
Inquiry/Open-ended questions: (List at least 3)

Closure/Transitions:
After we have finished with the activity, I will ask what other animals they think
should be on the farm. After receiving answers, I will ask the students to put their
papers in their folders, if they have colored them, or put them on the drying rack, if
they were painted. We will clean up and they will be released to Center time.
Assessment:
I will use a checklist and observation to determine how many animals the children
can identify and the sounds they make, including the way they make the sounds. I
will also be observing how they are holding pencils, crayons etcetera and make any
corrections if necessary.
