Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe
that summer is over
and school has started again. We are
looking forward to
having your child in
physical education
class this year. In order to have a safe
and productive learning environment the
school-wide discipline
plan will be enforced.
In addition students
may have a time-out
from an activity for
misbehavior after the
warning.
Grade Policy in elementary physical education is based pri-

marily on three areas:

Physical education not only
teaches the psycho-motor
domain but the cognitive and
affective domains as well. Our
goal is to have every student
experience success. We do
not stress competition. Instead
we stress that if you do your
best then you are a winner.
Good sportsmanship and
teamwork are very important
not only in the gym but in real

Health instruction
will also be incorporated into
the physical education curriculum. Students will have health
instruction during their physical education time one day a
week. The two grades will be
combined for a PE/Health
grade each grading period.

about various health-related

topics including character
education. Students will be
graded on the E, G, S, N, U
scale.
