Learning aim A: Explore the care values that underpin current practice in
health and social care
Scenario
You are a volunteer in two of the following health and social care settings;
you work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at one setting and Monday and
Saturday at the other setting.
You must choose from two of the following health and social care settings:
Task
Valuing People
While participating in either role plays, or work experience, you should
demonstrate your ability to use the care values with two different groups of
service users.
Video evidence of you demonstrating your ability should be provided.
Throughout these activities, the care values should be demonstrated through
your work with and support of each individual.
The care values that you must demonstrate are: confidentiality; dignity and
respect for the individual; safeguarding and duty of care; and a personcentred approach to care delivery.
Following your role plays or work experience, you should produce a reflective
report. This report should assess the potential impact of the effective and
ineffective application of care values service users.
Your report must include:
a description of how you used the care values in each of the settings,
giving one example for each value in both settings.
