Penguins Head Into All-Star Break On A Three-Game Winning

Wed., Jan 21 PENGUINS 5 vs. St. Johns 1
Conor Sheary scored two goals as the Penguins
defeated the IceCaps at Mohegan Sun Arena at
Casey Plaza, 5-1. Tom Kostopoulos and Bobby
Farnham struck 1:27 apart early in the first period
to give W-B/Scranton a 2-0 lead.
Sheary
converted at 4:20 of the second and :59 of the
third period.
Fri., Jan 23 Penguins 4 at NORFOLK 2
Scott Wilson netted the tiebreaking goal with
9:50 left in regulation as the Penguins skated
past Norfolk, 4-2. Andrew Ebbett scored twice in
his first game with W-B/Scranton since Nov. 26.
His first goal tied the score, 2-2, with 38 seconds
left in the second period, and his empty-net goal
iced the contest. Conor Sheary scored at 4:19 of
the first period for his third goal in two games.
Sat., Jan 24 Penguins 3 at NORFOLK 2 (OT)
Tom Kostopoulos scored 3:08 into overtime as the
Penguins completed the two-game sweep with a
3-2 win over the Admirals. Scott Wilson scored in
his fourth straight game to give the Penguins a
brief 2-1 lead with 9:05 left in regulation.

Wednesday vs. St. Johns was his first multi-goal
game as a professional.
- Sheary leads the Penguins and sits fourth
among rookies with 13 goals.
- Matt Murray leads rookie goaltenders and is
third in the league in goals against average
(1.98).
- Scott Wilson is tied for the rookie lead in plusminus with a +14 rating.
- After not giving up a shorthanded goal in its first
21 home games of the season, W-B/Scranton has
surrendered such goals in each of its last two
home games.
- Wilson has scored goals in four straight games
and also totaled seven points over that span (5G,
2A).
