Assignment: What was the process through which India acquired a constitution? Can we say that the Indian constitution truly represents the Indian society? What is a constitution, and does it evolve? A constitution literally, is a set of rules and regulations that guide social cohesion. Every constitution stands on the bedroom of legality or legal frame work, which ensures social contract among people and government of that given society. It is therefore, necessary to note that within this frame every individual or groups that compose of the society must be guaranteed rights, privileges and access to all public space, which is inclusive of government facilities, like infrastructure, education, health etc. The duty of the constitution is to guarantee of formal legal bounding, endorse by the entirety of the people, this does not necessary mean that people of the entire country will draft the constitution to govern themselves. How does it evolve? Every constitution in the world has a process of evolving. In human history this process started from the appearance of state, after the disintegration of the primitive accumulation system. State becomes the arbiter or distributor of rule and regulation to ensure social existence. In modern terms due to the advent of capitalism, the notion of constitution had changed drastically, which in a sense now involves decolonialization process in formal colonies. There is a clear distinction here, before the invasion of imperialist on the Indian subcontinent constitution existed, during monarchy and princely rule of various communities.
