1. According to Wilson, what are the goals of the peace process? The goals that
Wilson was trying to achieve by this type of peace were to make a united
Germany that would not be crippled so that they could be a trading
partner in future years. He also didnt want Germany to feel hostile
towards the other countries around the world. As a whole Wilson wanted
to create a lasting peace around the world for years to come.
2. Read Section V, IX, X, XI, XII, and XIII of Wilsons Fourteen Points and put it into
your own words. This is Wilsons idea of self-determination. As this unit progresses,
you will come to realize the importance of this concept. You may have to look it up.
The main underling point used throughout the inspirational fourteen
points that Wilson presented was that all the people living in the areas
affected by the war should be treated equally. Also that their views and
beliefs should be held intact for years to come.
3. Section XII of his Fourteen Points refers to the future of the Middle East. What
does Wilson suggest should happen to nationalities under Turkish rule if the
Ottoman Empire was to be defeated? Wilson suggests that the Turkish should
have rule over most of what was the Ottoman Empire. The parts that were
not Turkish would be assured there security.
4. Which principle, and which organization eventually resulted from Section XIV of
Wilsons Fourteen Points? The principle of a united globe was the main point
that stuck with the world for generations. Later this principle would
eventually turn into the United Nations that we know today.

5. According to his Fourteen Points, why was Wilson willing to fight for these
essential rectifications of wrong and assertions of right? Wilson was willing to
fight for these fourteen points because hhe wanted to see this be the last

Great War. He wanted there to be no more animosity between nations


resulting in an ever lasting peace across the globe.
6. Wilson included a cautionary note in his Fourteen Points regarding future dealings
with Germany. What was it? The cautionary note that Wilson put in his
fourteen points was that if they were to cripple the German people to the
extent the French wanted it would leave Germany bitter and wanting
revenge.
7. Were the people of the US ready to devote their lives, their honour, and
everything they possess to the principle of justice to all peoples and nationalities,
and their right to live on equal terms of liberty and safety with one another, whether
they be strong or weak?most of the people in the united states wanted a
lasting peace in the region, but most of the population still didnt think it
was there problem because the fighting was way over there. There was
also the fact that they wanted to be a super power and dominate over
other countries.
