*Dr. Maha El-Khalil Chalabi will brief the luncheon attendees on the Tyre Foundation,
and the upcoming American Committee for Tyre Symposium and Reception to be held at
the U.S. Library of Congress on June 3, 2015, in cooperation with Congressman Charles
Boustany. Panelists for the Symposium will be selected from domestic and international
experts. Members of the U.S. Congress, Administration officials, and senior government
ministers from Lebanon will attend both the Symposium and reception. The American
Committee for Tyre, is a 501c (3) organization, which fosters public knowledge of, and interest in
the ancient city of the UNESCO site in Tyre, Lebanon, and promotes its preservation through
educational and cultural programs. The American Committee for Tyre is a member of the
International Association to Save Tyre (AIST), (www.tyrefoundation.org) which was created by
Dr. Maha El-Khalil Chalabi and is an international non-governmental organization accredited to
UNESCO since 1980. The Association includes eminent personalities and officials from the worlds
of culture, science and politics.

Tyre is widely known as the Phoenicians city-state, the legendary birthplace of the Alphabet,
Europa, Dido, and the greatest maritime trading civilization of the ancient World.
