Foam Calculation for Class A Foams

**For most applications, .5% of Class A foam mixture will be ideal for the Burner CAFS 60
system. This is equal to 1 gallon of Class A foam concentrate
Formula to mix at alternative percentages:
1 gallon = 128 ounces: Base for calculations
% = Percentage of concentrate to water per type of foam being used.
V = Volume of water in the CAFS stored energy vessel.
A = Amount of concentrate to add to water.
128 x (%) x V = A
Example: For a .5% solution of foam in the 60 gallon vessel.
128 x .005 x 60 = 40 Ounces
40 ounces of class A foam concentrate added to water in vessel = .5% solution

**If utilizing Blizzard Freeze Proof Foam, DO NOT MIX WITH WATER. This foam is pre-mixed, therefore 60
gallons of Blizzard foam must be used to fill the stem. Adding water to this mixture will degrade the foam and its
freeze-proof features.
