TPO. We will use ratios and rates to solve problems using a station activity.

What is a unit rate?
Academic vocabulary was also posted. Rate, unit rate, ratio, numerator,
denominator, proportion.
The agenda stated: warm up, station activity, exit ticket.
Mr. Wise used randomness sticks to choose 2 students to come to the digital
camera so that they could work the problem.
Strengths
There are 13 students in the classroom
and most students were engaged in the
warm up activity.
Mr. Wise had a timer out for the
students to check to make sure they
were able to complete the activity.
He then gave the students two minutes
to talk about the main idea and different
parts of working the problem.

Areas to Address
Many students were not paired up with
any one to share out how they worked
the problem.
Please ask the students to speak up
when they are sharing so that all
students can hear what they are saying.

Comments:
Students were able to go to the board and work each problem.
They stated that main idea and their answer choice. They then asked the students
if anyone had gotten a different answer. Mr. Wise then clarified for the students
what the correct answer was and then asked the students to give the students who
shared their answer a round of applause.
The students then picked up the warmups in the students warm up folders and put
them away for tomorrow.
Strengths
Mr. Wise shared with the class how he
set his odometer this morning and how
they can use miles of minutes to
determine how long it might take him to
get to his destination and what rate of
speed he was traveling at.
He then modeled for the students how
1 to work a problem.
Mr. Wise then told the students that
they would be working at their stations
today. He explained to the students the
station task sheet. Asked them to make

Comments:
Mr. Wise had the students in 4 different stations and gave each of the groups 4
minutes to complete the activity at each station.

"We don't get it" please try to correct the students verbiage "I don't understand it"

Strengths

Areas to Address
Try to divide the students out more
