This pie chart portrays a variety in the

age range. All ages are within my target
age group, which makes my results
more reliable because they are in the
age range of who I am targeting my
magazine at.

No

The majority of the people that filled in

my questionnaire dont read music
magazines. Event though many of them
may not be familiar with music
magazines, they still know what they
want and can still give valid
information on what they would either
like or dislike in a music magazine.

These results shows that half of my

magazines, dont read them because
they find them boring. Therefore I will
strive to make my magazine fun and
exiting, in order to entice more people
into reading it and appeal to a wider
audience.

The amount of disposable income the

my target audience have to spend
seems to be a good amount in order to
buy a magazine. Also the results tell me
that I dont want the price of my
magazine to be too extortionate,
because then my target audience wont
be able or wanting to pay for my
magazine.

Each magazine had a different genre and a

different celebrity. There is; Cheryl Cole with
a rock genre magazine, Adele in a more of a
R&B magazine, Eminem in a rap genre
magazine, and last but not least, Katy Perry,
with a pop genre magazine. You notice that
each artist fits with the genre of the magazine.
This is an effective way of making the
magazine stand out because it associates itself
with the artist, in turn appealing to the artists
fans. The most popular out of all four of these
magazines was the rock genre magazine with
Cheryl Cole. This suggests that my target
audience prefer the darker audience and
more dangerous looking magazines, which
suggests rebellion, passion and energy.

Charts

The far majority of my target audience

only sometimes read magazines which
tells me that I should makes my
magazines more spontaneous, in order
to intrigue the reader as it will most
likely be a one off thing, where the
reader just wants fun facts and exiting
things to read about. These results also
tell me that a I will need a decent price
for my magazine so that people are
persuaded to buy more because its not
for a very high price.

I am able to understand, from these

results, which genres my target
audience like best. I have found that
there is a range of most popular genres
which vary from: indie, metal, rock and
R&B. These are similar genres to the
magazines that were in a previous
questions which is understandable
because those magazines are very
successful. Though it also suggests that
by seeing the magazines first, this
altered the persons view and just made
them put what was easiest and most
convenient for them. Which suggests
that my result arent incredibly reliable,
but also the genres are mainly the ones
which are more exiting and unique
which is a factor they all have in
common which helps give me an idea of
what my target group wants.

Clearly I cannot price my magazine

above 5, because my results show that
my target group expect to see a price
range from less than 2 to between 2-
5. Which depending o how I see fit, I
will price my magazine accordingly.

You can see that from these results,

there is a wide range of artists that
my target audience prefer. Ed Sheeran
being in the top most preferred, along
with: Beyonc, Pharrel, Meghan
Trainor and Rihanna. This helps
evaluate what artist and music to
involve in my music magazine. This
wide variety of artists, in which my
target audience likes, also links with a
wide range of different music genres
which can help choose the genre type
for my magazine.

A mixture of formal and informal

language seems ideal for a music
magazine because you can address a
variety of audiences from the
language you use. My target audience
clearly prefer a mixture of both
informal and formal language and
therefore I will use this, and make the
language fitting with the genre of my
magazine. So I use formal language
for talking indirectly to the reader,
and informal, for talking directly to
the reader.

The most popular key aspect in a

magazine, seem to be games. Which
could include: word search, spot the
difference etc. The second and third
most popular, chosen by my target
audience, is: celeb gossip and a
freebee. I will aim to include all of
these aspects in my magazine in order
to appeal to my target audience and
make them more intrigued into
buying my music magazine.

I can identify from this that the music

is more important to the reader than
the music artist. I will therefore make
my magazine more about music with
a variety, instead of focusing on just
the artists and not the music.

15) Would you be more

magazine if it had a gift
attached?
Yes

No

16) Do you listen to

music regularly?
Yes
No

17) Do you have a

hobby/job
involving music?
Yes

No

The colour scheme is very important

for a music magazine as I have found
from the most popular magazine that
my target group chose. The colour
scheme of that magazine was black,
white and red mainly. Here you can
see that, black and gold, and black,
red and white, were very popular
colour schemes which suggests that
my target group are more into
dangerously exiting colours, which
connote rebellion and energy. This is
incredibly suitable for the age range
of my target audience and I will make
sure my colour schemes includes
these colours.
From this pie chart I am able to see
that it would be very beneficial in
attaching a gift to my magazine as it
would make my target audience more
likely to buy it. I will therefore
consider in including this, though I
also have to consider the price into
this also, because I dont want my
magazine to be costly.
This pie chart makes it clear that
everyone in my target audience listen
to music regularly, which suggests
that they must all like music and
makes it more probably for them to
buy my music magazine.

Not many of my target audience are

keen musicians, clearly, though the
ones that do have hobbies/jobs
involving hobbies may be more likely
to want to buy my music magazines
and be on top with good music.

These results show that at least a

minority would be interested in
subscribing but that also depends on
how interested they are in the
magazine that I should produce.
