Objectives:
To ensure that beginner level students are able to:
1. Differentiate between a singular noun vs. plural noun.
2. To use S properly at the end of nouns to indicate if the noun
is a singular or plural.
3. To Encourage student participation and pair work.
4. Introduce students to the rewards system.

avoiding TTT to stay on task.
Anticipated problems for Students:

T will mimic shopping at a clothing store. T1 will pick up a tie from the table and point towards it to elicit the name and the
quantity of the item being bought and then put it in their shopping bag.
T will go along and pick up 5 pens and point them out individually to elicit the name and amount before putting them in
their bag.

T will pick up will pick up 2 lipsticks and point towards them individually to elicit the items name and the amount.
T will walk around and pretend to search through items to shop. T will then pick up a scarf from the table and elicit the
name and quantity of the item.

students answer correctly or incorrectly.
Ss will formulate their answers based on what they will see and will openly guess what the teachers are trying to convey.

T will present five PowerPoint slides that will contain pictures of various things. T will elicit the names of the items in
singular/ plural form with their number count. T will chorally drill the nouns in their singular and plural forms.
This will ensure that students actively use singular and plural for the upcoming part of the lesson

T will drill the Plural S sounds of each word to avoid pronunciation problems in the future.
T will ask CCQs just to confirm if the students have grasped the concept

Can a letter S ending be added to a noun to make it a plural? Yes or No?
T will ask the students to form groups of two to encourage pair work.

T will give each group two bags full of picture/pictures of different items. T3 will explain the instructions of the activity as
the following:

Ss will have five minutes to open their bags and count their paper item cut outs. Each item should be categorized and the
students must identify the amount of the item and if the items are singular or plural through pronunciation of the noun.
T will mimic an example of how the expected answer should be.
