LAB EXPERIMENT 01
Egg Shell
INSTRUCTOR: Ni Wang
DATE: 1/27/2015

Materials
- 1 Dry Empty Egg shell
- 1 water bottle
- 1 piece of paper
- 1 knife
- 1 package of scented wax
- 1 wax incense burner
- 2 candles
- 1 old candle holder
- 1 thick glove or rag

Procedures
After you have all the materials listed above you can begin creating an egg shell candle. Let's
begin by using the knife to cut the top off the water bottle to form a funnel. Next you'll want to
lay the piece of paper over the table/area where you will be working/pouring wax into the egg
shell. you can go ahead and put some chunks of scented wax on the incense burner and light a
candle under it. Next place your old candle holder on the piece of paper and then place the egg
on it, make sure your egg won't fall through it. Once the scented wax has melted carefully
remove the candle from the bottom of the incense burner and use your glove/rag to carfully lift
the incense burner up and with your other hand hold the funnel you made earlier over the egg
and pour the melted wax into it. Take the wick from the second candle and place it in the egg
while the wax is still hot. Give the egg 10-15 minutes to allow the wax inside to cool.
