Warm-ups are used to:

prepare your mind and body for the focus of a particular lesson
physically warm-up the body in order to prevent injuries

Criteria:
Two or four warm-up exercises need to be presented to the class (depends on class size). Each
person/partner is responsible for a minimum of four sets of eight (thirty-two counts each). Both partners do
all the movements together, but each person takes their turn leading the warm-up (demonstrating the
movements and coordinating the counting with the steps to the music). Make sure the movements are
balanced on both the right and left side. Also, be creative in your warm-up by adding some variety to your
exercises. Yes, you can be funky! Begin your segment of the warm-up by double bouncing the knees for
two sets of eight on the beat of the music. Please share at the beginning of the warm up which muscle
groups are being focused on.
