To Whom It May Concern:

Mr. McCormack has been an excellent addition to my classroom at Perry High School. He has
a high level of professional capability and an excellent work ethic. During Mr.
McCormack's fime at Perry High School he has been responsible for teaching five I lnll2'h grade
Physical Geology classes and one 9'n grade Physical Science class. In addition, Mr. McCormack

a natural feel for being in front of the classroom; through his planning he develops
clear learning goals aligned to the Ohio Science Education Standards. He creates lessons that require
students to use divergent and critical thinking skills. He also employs a variety of evaluation techniques
including traditional assessments, lab practical assessments, essays, and project based assessments.

Discipline was not an issue in Mr. McCormack's classroom. He actively promotes fairness in his
classroom by treating the students with respect and expecting the students to treat others with respect.
Because of this respect, it is quite easy for Mr. McCormack to develop excellent rapport with his
students and maintain a positive relationship with them.
Students in Mr. McCormack's classes know what is expected of them because he communicates clear
learning goals and daily expectations to them. He always encourages students to take the task at hand
and not just get it done but get it done right. Mr. McCormack's class is well planned but flexible in
order to fit the changing needs of divergent learners. Students are engaged throughout the lesson and
the lessons are paced to maximize student learning.
Outside of the classroom, Mr. McCormack is always a professional. He has participated in our Teacher
Based Teams, he has attended building staff meetings, and he has led parent teacher conferences. He

has also participated

in numerous other activities including homecoming, Volley for the Cure, and

Perryr's 5m Quarter program.
