Impact on Visas, Diplomatic IDs


Deadline to submit visa extensions and
diplomatic ID card applications to HRO:
June 25
Passports/new visas should be ready July 1315

No arrivals June 26-28 (Jakarta),


June 15 -28 Surabaya, Medan) or
employee will be out of compliance on
visa extension
For new employees arriving June 29-July
26, KEMLU will begin processing
documents on July 27, when it reopens

Impact on Shipments
New employees
Shipments of personal effects (UAB, HHE,
POV) will be delayed
Need diplomatic ID card to clear customs

Those arriving in late June-early July will wait


longest

transfer season
Delayed 2-3+ weeks

Temporary housing for 1-3 months,


possibly at serviced apartments (Peak

CURRENT EMPLOYEE CHECKLIST


Check visa to see if it expires between June 26
July 26 (June 15 July 26: Surabaya & Medan). If
so, renew by June 25!
Return you and your familys diplomatic ID cards
to HR, or KEMLU will not process your successors
paperwork!
If leaving Indonesia during holiday, check with
HRO
Make sure your visa is still valid through your
departure time from post
Section heads: Check arrival dates for new
employees
Sponsors: Be flexible about location. Lend more
Embassy of the United States of America
toys!

NEW EMPLOYEE CHECKLIST


Do not arrive in Jakarta June 26 28 or in
Surabaya or Medan June 15 -28.
Ensure your TMFOUR includes your diplomatic
title
Ensure you and your EFMs have at least three
years validity on passports, to avoid any visa
conversion issues
Those arriving June 26 July 26 (June 15 July 26:
Surabaya & Medan) must wait until July 27 for
visa extension, then diplomatic ID card
Consider shipping important items by mail
Work-related items only to diplomatic pouch address
Personal items to DPOself-paid

If family arrives before employee, contact HRO
