Dear Promotion Committee,

My name is Jack Mueller, and I am one of Dr. Bankstons former students.
I am writing this letter to convey my support for Dr. Bankstons pursuit of a promotion to
associate professor; I deeply believe she deserves that position.
Dr. Bankston is an exemplary instructor, and an ideal individual for being promoted. As
an undergraduate Humanities student, and as a graduate student pursuing a history teachers
degree, I have had the utmost pleasure to learn Dr. Bankstons amazing intellect, and her ability
to muse. She analyzes and comprehends the plethora of components pertaining to philosophical
pursuits. Her competence in the examination and practice of political endeavors is superior.
Moreover, Dr. Bankston focuses on findings relative to gender equality; this is a much needed
area of research and I am so pleased to know that a person like Dr. Bankston studies it.
Most importantly: Dr. Samantha Bankston holds a unique personality that is wonderful at
getting students to trust and like her. I personally testify that I am naturally shy and slow to trust
people, but my first pleasantry and my first class with Samantha caused my apprehension to
quickly diminish. Henceforth, I have trusted Dr. Bankston and she will always hold it. Thus: as
an aspiring teacher, I hope to one day become half of the personage Samantha is.
I respectfully request that you promote Dr. Samantha Bankston; she truly deserves it.
