How Effective Are They? What is inclusion? a. Including students with disabilities with other students in a general classroom because they all have the right to learn equally. Inclusion Programs are programs that are planned, created, collaborated by faculty to include students with disabilities in general classrooms. Also, to reach unique needs for all students. Types of Arguments: a. The issue that we are addressing is that some think that inclusion programs are effective and some think that they are not. Are they effective ENOUGH? b. Our Position a. We both believe that Inclusion Programs ARE effective in schools. b. We have listed a couple reasons why (Pros) Inclusion Programs are effective (*There are many, but we listed ones that we thought were most important for students with and without disabilities*). Introduce Video a. This video talks about an eight-year-old boy who has Down syndrome and who is benefiting from the Inclusion Program in his school. Cons of Inclusion Programs a. While there are many pros to inclusion programs, there are also a lot of cons as well. Our Plan of Action a. We created a small idea of what we thought a goo plan of action would be for creating inclusion programs and keeping them in schools. b. Proper understanding of diversity and disabilities in general.
