Materials: Pencils, whiteboard, worksheet

Procedure:
Introduction: (10 minutes)

As students enter the classroom select 4 students to complete the

sentences on the board.
o Mya est en __________
o Ella tiene hambre pero no tiene ___________
o Mya quiere __________
o Ella va a ___________________.
Read the small white board with the objectives for class.

Read through the sentences on the board as a class. Ask students to

think of ideas for what happens next in the story (responses must be
in Spanish). Have at least 4 students share.
Go through the instructions with the students and give examples
(ask for examples). Examples may not be used in group stories.

Activity:

Place students into groups of 4 (one group of 5). Groups are made in
advance so that students at differing levels are placed together.
Each group needs to write as many What happens next ideas on
their papers. I will circulate throughout the room to help with writing
and to make sure students are only using previously learned
vocabulary.
(If time, explain) Distribute paper that has 9 horizontal lines spaced
evenly across the paper. For homework, recopy the first four
sentences. Choose one of their groups What happens next ideas
and write that in the 5th section. For the remaining sections, write 5
additional sentences.
o Students will then write the 10 sentences into a paragraph in
the appropriate order.
o Tomorrow in class students will read their paragraph to a
partner out loud. They will cut out the worksheet with the list
of the 10 sentences and their partner will have to put them in
the appropriate order.
(If there is not time)
o Ask each student to write down their favorite What happens
next on an exit slip. They will hand this to me as they walk
out the door. This will assess their participation and
conjugation of verbs/usage of vocabulary.
