Cortex:
Outer most layer of brain cells.
Thinking and voluntary movements begin in the cortex
Brain Stem:
Between spinal cord and center of the brain.
Basic functions are controlled here.(ex: sleeping and breathing)
Basal Ganglia:
Cluster of structures in center of brain.
Coordinates messages between other brain areas.
Cerebellum:
At the base and the back of the brain.
Responsible for the coordination and balance.
Lobes
Frontal Lobes:
Responsible for problem solving, judgment, and
motor function.
Parietal Lobes:
Manage sensation, handwriting, and body position.
Temporal Lobe:
Involved with memory and hearing
Occipital Lobes:
Contain the brains visual processing center.
Usage
