Arthurian Legend Online Cooperative Lesson
This lesson was created for EME6403 in the Fall 2014 semester.
It demonstrates the skills and concepts learned in the course to
reflect online curriculum design incorporating interdependence
and independence while incorporating various technology tools
such as google docs, weebly, and voicethread, and discussion
boards. The development began with setting objectives and
then creating a rubric to reflect the objectives and expectations.

Needs Assessment Plan
The needs assessment plan was created as a proposal to
present to the principal and head of school at Brandon Academy
for evaluation of their writing program. It demonstrates the use
of planning for a budget and audience as well as a laying out a
plan for conducting a needs assessment in the future. The plan
began with a review of data supplied by the schools website
and resources, and interviews with teachers within the
Language Arts program. It demonstrates the use of planning and
communication needed to successfully complete a needs
assessment.

Job Task Analysis: Director of Training Brandon Academy
The Job Task Analysis was created to present information on a
potential Director of Training position at Brandon Academy. The
report demonstrates the ability to communicate instructional
systems competencies associated with analyzing a job to
communicate the skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to
complete a task, duties, and functions of the role.

Usability Test and Report
As part of a semester long project on evaluating if teacher
evaluations, as they are being used, support student
achievement in the classroom, my team conducted a usability
test of the Value Added Model On-line Tool for teachers in Polk
County Florida. The test was set up to ask 3 different teachers to
try to complete 3 different tasks using the tool. Observations
were made of each teacher during the test and notes were
taken on the length and comments each user used. Users were
then asked to rate each tasks difficulty. These results were then
synthesized and evaluated for similarities and difference to form
conclusions on the effectiveness of the tool and then reported in
a Power Point. The report shows the Usability test protocol, the

Systems Analysis: Petes Collectibles
The Systems Analysis was created to present an analysis of how
Petes Collectibles works as a system. It presents information on
the organization, processes, and problems and how they
interrelate within the various departments. It was used to supply
concreate information for the management within Petes
Collectables to use as they continue to build and grow their
company.

Small Group Formative Evaluation Report
The small group formative evaluation report was created to
communicate the strengths and weaknesses of an instructional
unit created on verbs. It serves as a final piece of a semester
long project that was and is used within my middle school
language arts classroom. The report demonstrates the use of
learner analysis, assessment analysis, and a plan for revision.

Produsage 1: Follow a Word
Produsage 1: Follow a Word is a lesson design that incorporates
Web 2.0 technologies Twitter and Discussion Boards to engage
students in vocabulary instruction and challenge students to
evaluate the use of the words instead of just simple
memorization. The lesson design includes objectives, materials,
procedure, and assessment. It requires students to use already
reviewed vocabulary words to search of this word to determine if
the hashtag is used correctly. Students then post the Twitter
post and their commentary explaining the correctness of the
hashtag on a discussion board and respond to others postings.
They are assessed through their commentary and thoughtful
responses to peers. This is a now a lesson I use often to engage
my 8th grade students in vocabulary instruction.

One-on-one evaluation Report
The One-on-one Evaluation, created as part of EME 5603, is
based on a self-designed instructional unit on Verbs. The Unit
followed systematic instructional design practices. Students
from my middle school language arts class were selected and
individually assigned an instructional unit on verbs and were
then observed and surveyed to identify revisions. Based on

these revisions, changes were made to the instructional unit.

The one-on-one evaluation report shows a learner analysis, data
collection procedures and results, and revisions to be made to
the final unit based on student interviews, observations, and
surveys from 3 individual students.

Objectives Table/ Analysis
The Objectives table was created as one of the first pieces of the
Instructional Unit project created after the skills analysis. The
table shows the skills, objectives, examples, and number of
assessment questions used to accurately test these skills along
with sample questions and rational behind skills that are not
tested. The table was then used to create the assessment as
part of the instructional unit on verbs.

Learner Analysis
The Learner Analysis is one of the beginning pieces of the
Instructional Unit project. The purpose is to gather and analyze
information about the learners demographics and skills prior to
designing a lesson in order to accurately design the lesson for
the learners needs. The report shows the interview questions
and procedures used during the learner analysis as well as an
overview of the information received during the interview and
how it will affect the final instructional unit. This information was
then used to begin planning the objectives and instructional
unit.

Instructional Unit: Verbs
The Instructional Unit, created as part of EME 5603, is the final
product showing the results in design of the Instructional Design
process. The Unit followed systematic instructional design
practices and represents the final product derived from
objective analysis, skills analysis, learner analysis, one-on-one
evaluation, and a small group formative evaluation. The
instructional unit has since been used in my middle school
language arts classroom to teach verbs to 6th graders.

Design Report
The design report was created as the planning phase for the
Instructional unit on verbs. It takes into account the analysis
phase information from the skills, learner, and objectives
analysis and implements the findings into a report to plan out

the instructional unit. The design report begins with the target
audience, goals, and terminal objectives and then in broken
down into specific ideas for the instructional unit: Introduction,
learning activities, and concluding assignments. Each area is
then broken down further to include the elements of each area
in order to provide a clear guide for the instructional unit to
follow including motivational elements, objectives, examples,
practice ideas, feedback plans, way to transfer knowledge, and
unit conclusion. The plan is then used to create the instructional
unit which will be tested in the one-on-one and small group
evaluations.

Analytics Problem Plan
The analytics problem plan was created for EME6356, but was
presented to Petes Collectables as a plan to solve its real world
sales problems. The report shows the various data that can be
collected from Ebay tools to report site sales and traffic which
can be analyzed to predict market trends and adjust pricing
structure. It consists of an organizational and problem overview
along with sample data that could be used to solve the
performance problem. It then offers a suggestion as to how to
use the report and a plan for future use of reports to help solve
the performance problem. Since presenting the report, Petes
Collectables has utilized many of the suggestions and data
reports available to adjust its pricing.
Analysis, Instructional Systems, Communication
Skills Analysis
For the skills analysis, I considered the terminal objective for the
Instructional Unit on Verbs and then determined the main skills
or knowledge needed for students to meet the terminal
objective. I then broke down each skill or knowledge into more
basic areas of understanding to determine the skills or
knowledge to accomplish each subsequent skill. I then selected
the entry level skills needed in order for a learner to be able to
complete the instructional unit. Any skill above the entry level
skills needed would be taught in the unit. The skills analysis is
then used to determine the overall objectives for the unit before
completing the design plan and instructional materials which
were then used within the classroom.

Childrens Church Instructional Template
This template was created for use at Calvary Lutheran Church
with their Childrens Church Program. At the time it was created
I was serving and an instructional design intern working to

create from scratch a new program to take the place of their

current Sunday School program. The template is a final product
that is currently being used weekly to assist church leaders in
planning Childrens Church Lessons. It clearly communicates the
objectives of the church in each Childrens Church lesson and
the vision of the program based on research and meetings
conducted with stakeholders.
