Course Description:
This course is for students who can easily operate computer basics but want to sharpen their
skills in using the computer for business. By taking this class, you increase your proficiency for
business and productivity by developing advanced skills in Microsoft Office 2013 (Word, Excel,
and PowerPoint).
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Create Word Documents such as Name Tags, Business Cards, Flyers, Newspaper Articles,
Reports, and Scholarly Papers
2. Work with Mail Merging, Insert Pictures into Documents and Use Cut, Copy and Paste
3. Create Tables, Use Math Formulas, and Draw on Tables
4. Use Tabs, and Leaders
5. Create Excel Documents and Use Formulas, Cell Ranges
6. Excel: Copy and Prevent Errors in Formulas and Use Functions
7. Excel: Create Professional Worksheets
8. Excel: Learn to Splash Color on a Worksheet
9. Create PowerPoint Presentation,
10. PowerPoint: Draw Shapes, Create Text Boxes, and Add Bullets, Number, Headers, Footers
10. PowerPoint: Add Audio and Animation Presentation
11. Deliver a PowerPoint Presentation

Evaluation: Students must attend a minimum of 80% of the total course hours in addition
to successfully completing all course competencies in order to receive a certificate of
completion. Reviews will be provided.
