Personal Narrative Diwali Vacations

It was the last day of school till Diwali vacations started. We finally
heard the sound of the whistle blow the students all left their classes
screaming with joy that school is finally over and with smiles from
ear to ear. Diwali is the festival of light that means at dusk you
would see the sky lit up with beautiful colors of firecrackers of
different sizes and shape. At first I thought it was going to be me
sitting at home doing homework, playing with friends, bursting
fireworks but I did a lot of things in this vacation.
The sun flickered though the curtains onto my eyes. I woke up it was
9:00. I thought I was late for school but then I realized that it was
the first day of vacations. After getting ready I started on my
homework pondering on all the questions. After dinner I could hear
the sound of the colorful fireworks. I also bust my own crackers with
my friends. There would be a thick blanket of smoke in the
atmosphere. For a few days this was all that I did.
I also went to a few places, as we had to write a travel diary on a
few places in Rajkot. The places I visited were Rotary mid town dolls
museum, Watson museum, Rashtriya shala and Kaba Gandhi no
Delo.
The first place I went to was Rashtriya shala. The Rashtriya shala
was built in 1921, after independence on remembrance of Mahatma
Gandhi. The Rashtriya shala practices the activities of Mahatma
Gandhi. It also displays a few artifacts from the historical events,
which took place in India. The next place I visited was Watson
museum. The Watson museum is made for the culture and history of
India and it was made in the year 1888. The Sate Government runs
it as it holds a lot of ancient artifacts. It was named after a man
called Colonel John Watson as he liked to collect information on
Rajkot and most of his foundings are displayed here. The museum
displays artifacts, carvings, statues, clothing and shelter designs
from human history.
Kaba Gandhi no Delo where Mahatma Gandhi lived when he was in
Rajkot. The meaning of the name is Mahatma Gandhis residence.
The word Kaba is the name of Mahatma Gandhis father. Today the
place is a museum and displays some of the things used during that
time. It also shows some of the belongings of their family. The last
place visited by me was Rotary mid town dolls museum. The

museum has been made especially for dolls. Dolls from all over the
word are displayed here. The main idea of displaying dolls is that
children can get knowledge of different cultures and traditions from
all over the world with the unique dolls displayed there. There are
also other things in the museum like a cinema that shows
educational videos for children to watch. This Diwali Vacation was
indeed very interesting with all of the places I went to, the things I
did, seeing the dark night sky light up with colors and the pungent
fragrance of sweets.
