What Saith the Scriptures?

The burden must be felt before it is
carried well; has the Holy Spirit
moved you to feel this burden for the
lost? The Spirit alone saves. Note
Pauls attitude it is strong indeed,
and ours must be likewise strong.

Church Growth without Gimmicks

Ephesians 2:1-9
Get the message
right and the power source working
thru your life, and preach truth in
grace.
First principles The Bible is our text
book the Holy Spirit is the power to
change lives we are debtors to the
lost we are answering their
pressing need it is all about grace.

Divine Good Human good

1. Work in our own strength is of no value

to God, Is 64:6, Rom 8:8.
2. Only what is done in the Spirits power
is of value, Eph 2:10
3. Human good is what unbelievers do,
Gal 5:19-21, 1 Jn 2:11, 3:4
4. Divine Good imitates Jesus, Eph 5:1-2
5. Divine good brings eternal rewards, 1
Cor 3:11-15.
6. Dead works do not save, Heb 6:1, 2
Tim 1:9, Titus 3:5, Rev 20:10-15.

Evangelism

1. Witnessing with lips, 2 Cor 5:18-21,

and life, 2 Cor 3:3.
2. People will rely on themselves, or the
Lord, Rom 8:1, 9:30-33.
3. The Holy Spirit alone leads people to
Jesus as Saviour, Jn 3:3-18, 16:8-11
4. Biblical pattern is illustrated in 1 Thess
2:1-12.
5. We are to be well equipped and ready
fishers of men. Matt 4:19

Ambassadorship

2 Timothy 4:1-5, 13-16, 2 Cor 5:17-20, Romans

8:9-11
1. An ambassador doesnt appoint themselves, 2
Cor 5:20
2. They do not support themselves, Phil 4:19
3. Do not represent themselves, Matt 28:18-20
4. They belong to their nation (heaven) Phil
3:20, Jn 15:19
5. Have written instructions, 1 Thess 4;1-2
6. No insult is personal, Matt 5:11-12
7. Their departure is war, 1 Thess 4:13-17

Spiritual Gifts

1. Eph 4:11, 1 Cor 12:28-30, Rom 12:38.

2. Their purpose is to bless the church,
Eph 4:8-13
3. Given by the Spirit, 1 Cor 12
4. Some are permanently used, others
were temporary, 1 Cor 12:28-13:8
5. The Holy Spirits filling alone makes
them effective and useful, Acts 2:4,
Eph 5:18

Election - Predestination

1. This doctrine looks at our salvation from

eternity whereas we see it from space and
time!
2. Free will is what we see being exercised, but
God sees us enter our place.
3. Jesus was chosen in eternity past and we join
Him thru faith. Is 42:1, 1 Pet 2:4-6, 1 Cor
1:2, 30, Rom 8:28, 32.
4. We are secure in Him, Jn 15:16, Col 3:12
5. Judas illustrates this; Matt 10:1-8, Jn 12:6,
13:18, 17:12.
