For the boiler drum level calculation first of all measured the LRV & URV
value.
For this we need boiler drum height i.e. 1 meter (given), specific gravity of
water i.e. 1 and the specific gravity of material that is filled in boiler drum for
example take diesel (having specific gravity of 0.7).
Here LRV means the value at the time when the drum is empty.
LRV= 0(bcoz drum is empty) 1000mm 1(Sp.Gravity of water)1000mm
= - 1000mm

Here URV means the value at the time when the drum is full with the material
i.e. Diesel (Sp. Gravity of 0.7).
URV = 0.7(Sp. Gravity 0f Diesel) 1000mm 1(Sp. Gravity of water) 1000mm
= -300mm
So, the range of Boiler Drum level is given as LRV URV
= -1000mm (-300mm)
= -700mm.
