Campaign Speech 1

Brutuss Speech
Smiles, waves, shakes hands
Integrity, power, nobility, purity are all of the traits of a great leader and all are traits that
describe myself. I, Marcus Junius Brutus, firmly believe the closest Rome will ever get to having
a great leader is in your grasp. My duty is to fulfill the needs of my fellow Romans and to start a
drastic rebirth of Rome to recover from the destruction Julius Caesar has done. I promise to
lead with my motto, if it be aught tomorrow the general good set honor in one eye and death in
the other and I will look on both indifferently (Shakespeare 1.2.91-94). I see Rome in the future,
as a great, thriving metropolis with an abundance of opportunities with the guidance of my
leadership and loyalty to you, the people of Rome!

And for Mark Antony, think not of him, For he can do no more than Caesars arm When
Caesars head is off (Shakespeare 2.1.188-190). Antony has no real power and ability to
control Rome now since Caesar is dead. If young Antony was really loyal to Caesar why did he
flee from the scene frantically scared of being attacked (Shakespeare 3.1.104-105). A true
leader would be brave and courageous and stand up for Caesar opposed to being afraid of the
consequences that may follow. People of Rome, do you want a leader that cant stand up for
what is right and is too cowardly to address a situation?
On the other hand, I am a man of my words and I must say, I will only do what is right for
Rome and you people. Unlike Antony, I put my foot down for the good of Rome and stopped
Caesars reign. It was apparent that Caesar was starting to abuse his power and I wish to see
Rome flourish with life and prosperity back to the way it was meant to be. In order to make
Rome better, it was the only solution to avoid the future of many poor decisions to come Caesar
could have made. I vow to never abuse my power as the leader of Rome. With the guidance of
my leadership, Rome will see a rebirth like no other, and I will fulfill the promise that I have
made. What Caesar really lacked in becoming the leader that Rome deserved, is the loyalty and

gratitude towards Rome. However, I Brutus bear the imperative qualities needed to guide you
the people of Rome, to a greater life and society. I have all the good qualities to become the
leader of Rome. Unlike Caesar, I am loyal to the people and care for them. O Rome I make
thee promise If the redress will follow, thou receivest thy full petition at [my] hand (Shakespeare
2.1.59-61).
Audience claps with enthusiasm
I want to thank all the citizens of Rome for this great opportunity to humbly lead Rome
back to what it was meant to be and prosper for many years to come. Rome deserves better
than what Caesar made it to be, Antony would just be following in his foot steps. Help me
cleanse the corrupt in Rome. Thank you.
