Continuous energy conversion device: Motor, Generator.

For a flux path stator, rotor and an air gap are lined in series. Equal no of poles must be
created in both rotor and stator side. 3 types Losses occurs in motor and generator

Friction and windage losses

Core-losses.

Commutator is used mto convert the direction of current in same direction. But in a dc
generator the induced voltage is alternating.

Electrical Motor
electrical motor lies on the fact that force is experienced in the direction
perpendicular to magnetic field and the current, when field and current are
made to interact with each other.
Its based on the principle that if a current carrying conductor is placed in a
magnetic field it experiences mechanical force whose direction is given by
flemings left hand rule and magnitude can be given by BIL newton.
The function of commutator in the motor is the same as in a generator.
