I firmly believe that client and family teaching is highly important in the care my client will receive and continue to use as they carry on with their recovery. Continuing to ensure my knowledge before entering a situation where Im performing a skill or need to answer clients questions, I will always first my confident in my own abilities and understanding. In working my way up to the Excellent rating in this category, I would like to work on my teaching abilities becoming more seamless. I will do so by practicing for my CIA, incorporating more teaching in practice in lab, performing teaching on family members, and practicing the organizational plans with different scenarios to teach on. In the future I will always leave my client feeling self-assure that Ive left them with knowledge on their situation by having them reiterate back to me some of the teaching and by communicating with each other before, during, and after any procedure/skills performed as an LPN.
