Test Setup

Day 1 will be open response

o Given a data set you will have to make a graph and find the slope of the graph.
o There will be 1 sample experiment in which you will have to identify the parts of the
experiment.
o There will be math problems A formula sheet will be provided with all the formulas
o You will need to know the correct units and when to use each formula. The staircase
for metric conversion will NOT be provided.
Day 2 will be Multiple Choice Questions (Scantron so bring #2 pencil)
o You will not have access to the open response on day 2!

YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN CALCULATOR!!! NO PHONES WILL BE

ALLOWED. NO SHARING OF CALCULATORS WILL BE ALLOWED.

Sample math problems:

* Make sure you know your units!
1.

A car traveled a distance of 92 km in a time of 1.8 hours. What is the cars average speed?

2. If a plane is traveling at 325 km/hr and it is 1400 km from Boston to Orlando, how long will the trip
take?

3. A runner starts from rest and in 10 seconds is traveling at a velocity of 9.3 m/s. What is the
runners acceleration?

4. If an object with a mass of 47 kg is pushed with a force of 700N, what will the objects
acceleration be?

5. What is the weight of an 88 kg person on Earth?

6. What is the momentum of a bicycle with a mass of 17 kg traveling at a speed of 11 m/s?

7. What is the density of a piece of wood with a mass of .64 g and a volume of 38 cm 3?

8. What is the KE of a roller coaster with a mass of 1700 kg that is traveling at a speed of 80 km/hr?

9. If a ball with a mass of 1.2 kg sits at the top of a hill 70m high, how much gravitational potential
energy does the ball have?
