SCENE:
OPTION ONE – Recreation of a scene from the novel, depicting it as closely to the original as possible. The final product is a
film. The film could be created using: live action, stop motion, stills, or a teacher approved alternative.
ESSENTIAL QUESTION- Do the candidates demonstrate a deep understanding of the novel? *It needs to be clearly apparent
that you “get” the scene at hand. Any omittance to key elements will drastically lower the overall effect and thus one’s
grade.

Sentiment of the scene

The original sentiment and mood of the scene was clearly evident in the EXCELLENT GOOD FAIR POOR
media interpretation. Close attention was paid to Shelley’s language. If a 10 9-8 7-6 5-0
scene is stressful and anxious, then your piece needs to reflect this.

Distribution of Work

Chapter:
Equal distribution of work load/responsibility. You have properly completed
and submitted the work distribution documentation.

The scene
The scene portrayed was obvious. It is also a scene that is crucial to the
development of the plot, i.e. a very important moment in the novel. It is a
single scene and not a montage or series of events that takes place
throughout the novel.

Editing
Editing of the film enhanced the overall aesthetic. Scene transition was fluid.
Supplemental audio levels were at an appropriate level to not hinder
dialogue.
Length
The scene depicted was at a reasonable length. A viewer, unfamiliar with the
novel, could have a reasonable understanding scene. I.e. one is not
completely lost as to what is going on in terms of plot.
Oral
Words are pronounced correctly, voices are heard. Your speech is animated
based on the dictation of the scene- not robotic and drab.
