Kindergarten Class
Welcome Back Paideia Owls!
The second half of the
school year has begun! I
am so excited to start this
third quarter - I really
missed the scholars!
On Wednesday, each
scholar will be receiving
their 2nd quarter report
card, so please be sure to
check their backpack and
review their grades! If you
have any questions or concerns, please contact me
(see the back of this newsletter for contact info).
Just like last quarter, I will
be happy to host a parentteacher conference if you
would like - please contact
me with a time that works
for you next week (before
school from 7:00-7:45am
or after school from 4:00-
Week 1
story readings! :)
One of the new tools we
will be using this quarter
are individual readers for
each scholar. These books
are for scholars to practice
reading, and allows them to
write and mark in the book
in order to help them blend,
gather meaning, and improve fluency. Because we
are reading more in class,
please make sure you continue to review the phonograms with your scholar, as
well as practice those
spelling words every night!
This will improve your
scholars ability to read by
leaps and
bounds!

Coming Up...
In Language Arts, scholars will be reviewing
phonograms, while also learning a couple new sounds!
They will also be receiving their readers, which will
have each scholar reading on their own! Wow!
In math, scholars are beginning a new unit (in
their new math books!) that will focus on scholars
being able to identify that the next number in a
sequence is one more than the previous number (ex.
8 is one more than 7). This will help scholars improve
their number sense and addition/subtraction skills!
This week, scholars will be learning all about
the continent of Asia! Although there are so many
countries and cultures throughout Asia, scholars will
be learning about some Japanese and Chinese customs,
and compare them to American customs! A lot of fun
is coming our way! :)
