VCE General Mathematics is suited to students who are preparing for Further Mathematics Units 3 & 4. It provides
courses of study for a broad range of students. In this subject students will study univariate and bivariate data, linear
relations and equations, shape and measurement, trigonometry, financial arithmetic, trigonometry, networks and
matrices.

Outcome 1 On the completion of this unit, students should be able to define and explain key terms and concepts
and apply related procedures to solve routine applications problems. This will be demonstrated through workbook
questions and topic tests.
Outcome 2 On the completion of this unit, students should be able to use mathematical concepts and skills to
analyse a practical and extended situation and interpret the outcomes. This will be demonstrated through workbook
questions and term projects.
Outcome 3 On completion of this unit, students should be able to select and appropriately use technology to
develop mathematical ideas, produce results and carry out analysis. This will be demonstrated through workbook
