PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION

I wanted to know what the true definition of the word education meant. In the
dictionary, there are two definitions. The first definition states: the process of receiving
or giving systematic instruction, especially at a school or university. The second
definition states: an enlightening experience. In my opinion, the purpose of education is
learning new information by meaningful experiences. Education helps give students
academic knowledge and skills that will help prepare them for their future.
It is important for children to expand their knowledge in a various subjects such
as math, reading, writing, science, health, and social studies. Another important aspect
of education is to teach students pro-social values. Students who adopt these values
promote an ideal equality of all. Having knowledge in these subject areas helps the
child become a more productive member of society.
As a teacher it is her job to create a warm and caring learning climate for
students to learn in. As teachers, we need to assess students progress using formative
and summative assessment. There needs to be documentation on students growth
cover the course of a year. This documentation needs to be kept throughout the course
of the childs education.
The role of the teacher does not consist of one role but is several roles and
duties to perform. A teacher is problem-solver, caregiver, nurse, counselor, reflective
thinker, and an icon for a wide-variety of knowledge. With all these duties, it is the
teachers job to remain professional and an optimistic person. A good teacher bestows
all of these characteristics. A great teachers knows how to find ways to help see
students succeed academically and socially.

PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION

Students today are the future for tomorrow. It is up to the teachers, parents, and
community to help students succeed and make the world a better place. The role of a
good parent should be to take care of your childs health, physically and mentally. Good
parents are involved with their childs education and life. The role of the community is to
build unity and work together. A great school results from a great community.
School are becoming filled with technology; whether they have televisions,
computers, smart boards, iPads, or security systems to help make the school a better
place. The purpose of technology is to make society better and life easier. The types of
technology that should be seen in school today are definitely computers. Todays
society uses computers for everything! Students should be aware on how to use
computers because this will benefit them in the future.
Positive and engaging learning experiences should be integrated into the
curriculum. I believe hands-on activities or group activities are a great way. I believe
learning this way is fun and helps students build classroom community. This also
allows students to use critical thinking as well. Education should give systematic
instruction, while making it an enlightening experience for all students.
