Attached you will find your childs reading assessment for the standards involving

understanding the central message of fables and folktales we have learned thus far.
This assessment required them to take their knowledge to a higher level as they were
asked to apply the information they have learned to a selected fable, The Grasshopper
and the Ant. Each question on the assessment was graded using a rubric that aligns
with the new K-2 Report Cards (see below). From now on, be looking for the letters
M, P, B, N to indicate your childs performance.
M (Mastery)

Indicates that the student consistently and independently


demonstrates mastery of the standard.

P (Progressing)

Indicates that the student is progressing toward consistent and


independent mastery/proficiency of the standard.

B (Beginning)

Indicates that the student is beginning to progress toward the


standard.

N (Not Yet)

Indicates that the student is not yet demonstrating progress


toward the standard.
